your not going to belive it ! i actualy had a ruger 17 hrm in my hand and got to work the bolt. the dealer wants 449.00 for it. he has a 77 22 mag for 349.00 i thought ov buying it then picking up a after market 17hrm from butler creek or who ever brings one out first. bob |

Wish I could find a Marlin. 9 out of 10 places here in Utah haven't even heard of it. They give kind of a funny look when asked about it. I'd like a Ruger, but $449.00 seems a little steep. I understand the blued Marlin will be right around $200.00. I'm saving my pennies : ) |

I'm beginning to wonder about this cartridge. I read the recent Guns and Ammo article on this gun and the author provided no groups that he himself shot, and despite stating that they killed ground squirrel with it gave no account of it's performance on same. What he DID say was that it was marginal on fox-sized game, too big for "small game" and too puny for coyote. Makes you wonder, eh? And this disclaimer from a magazine that promoted shooting prairiedogs with a 22LR at 200+ yards a few issues back! I have a gun and ammo coming but I'm beginning to have my doubts. The test reports seem to leave alot out. Glad to see the rifles are hitting the racks, though.~Andrew |

andrew i think mabye they should have used a 15 gr berger at 3000 fps.
