OK, decided to go with Bullberry, stainless, bull barrel for 17 Ackley Bee. Now I need to make the big decision of either 18 or 20 inch length. I want something pretty short, for ease of handling, but don't want it unbalanced. Most feedback I have gotten has said to go with the 20". Pros and cons?

And a big thanks to all of you guys who are helping me build up these guns....... I was fortunate to find two sets of ryanite stocks for them, so they at least look like a rifle from the butt end!!!

20" is a good compromise between balance and velocity. That is what my Hebee is and I think that it is about right. I also have a 21" barrel for the contender (bull barrel also) and I don't consider it to be too long or heavy either. I wouldn't go any longer than 21" on the contender, if I wanted longer, I'd get it on the encore. The contender is a nice compact package that I like to keep that way.

My 17 HeBee is a 22". It is perfect as far as what I use it for. Crows, starlings, prairiedogs, and what not. Fred at BB said the 20" is the best compromise for accuracy and FPS, but I like the little extra weight and FPS.
