Just getting started loading for 17 Rem. i have a Bullberry barrel on my Encore frame. just curious what you guys recommend and use, and maybe some starting loads. i plan on trying 20 gr VMAX to start.

also does anyone make a competition seater for the 17 rem besides redding. i thought at one point in time i read that forester did but i am unable to locate it if they do.

thanks
andy

if anyone has a comp seater they want to get rid of contact me!!

The most accurate load in my rig is 24 gr of imr 4320 with a 25g starke and fed 205M primers. Then the reduced charge of 10 gr of blue dot.

I am not sure about the comp seater, but try www.lockstock.com they are a good place to start.

I have a bunch of data I could e-mail you if you want.

good luck

i would appreciate any info you would forward my way, thank you. that 24 grains of imr 4320, is that max or near max load? have you ever used any 20 gr vmax's? i am just getting into this, so am i right thinking that the 24 gr with the 20 grain vmax would be a safe load since it is a lighter pill?

thanks for your help
andy

The 24 g load is getting close to max, so I would say work up slowly as always. The 20g V-max with the same charge was ok, but no where near as accurate as the 25g starke, that is the best bullet I have tried, and I have tried a mess.

I did not have great results with the V-max in either my 17 rem or m4 , but give them a try and see how they do for you.

I'll send ya the data.

see ya
