I wish we could get Hornady to cut loose some of their 17 gr. VMAX's which they are using in the 17 HRM cartridge. It would sure make my 17 Ack. Hornet turn into a hummer. Does any one have any connections which we could us as a group, to aquire any of these bullets for testing? I guess could pull them from the 17 HRM cartridge. Chucker

I asked right when I heard about 17HMR, they said no, unless there was enough demand for it. I told them to count me in as a demander, if you haven't already, an email to them would be a good idea. Enough emails might convince them to start offering them.

Talked to them myself and got a similar answer. They did caution that the HMR bullet was very fragil and came apart at high speeds. Considering the fit it would have with the likes of the Ack Hornet I would guess that they will eventually put it on the market. Does anyone know if they intend to come out with a less fragil bullet that could be used with less damage to edible small game in the HMR?
