Well, after starting to build a CZ 527 17 AH,,,I shot it friday..Wowsers! You 17 guys HAVE been having FUN! The barrel I used was match stainless/24", and I could NOT stop shooting until the 75 rounds loaded were GONE!
One thing I noticed,,the picture of the 200 yd target was funny to see as the 'shock wave?' completely altered the target for about a half second after the shot,,,,neat effect! The only problem I have now,,after shooting the rifle (had been completed the nite before) a friend who has several 17 rifles offered me two new in box CZ 527s for it. Now I HAVE to build another quickly! alan in ga. |

You better had get busy. Sounds like a fair trade. Was your .17AH a repeater, did it feed? |

We loaded some 20 Vmax's for fireforming and loaded 'em way out onto the lands since the 4198SC pretty much filled the case. Cases looked like some had 2 rings from trip thru the die. Used a body form die and some just the full length size (boy, that sizing wax is great stuff!). Although the cases looked funny, NONE were lost in fireforming with all perfectly filled out and no cracked cases. Some of cases were once fired, some had been loaded as 22 hornets for 2 or 3 loads previous! New ower of rifle(yes, I traded after having just completed the rifle nite before) has already loaded up 650 rounds to be used on gopher trip in last week of May in Montana.
I'll call him and see if he's tried the cases thru the clip/feeding. alan in ga. |
