Has anyone any knowladge of the .22 Snapper? I know it's based on a 22 Hornet, b I'm wondering what kind of work and dies are needed in case forming? Any info would be a big help.

I think there is an article in Wolffe publishing's Wildcats that covers this.

CAS, the 22 Snapper was originally made as a pistol round, credited to Bob Snapp. Trcuda is right there is a little information about it in Wolfe's Wildcat Cartridges, looks like a shortened K Hornet. The article does say that RCBS made the form and reloading dies.

Been talking with a smith who has a reamer for it... putting them in Ruger Single six's. Sounds very interesting, just wondering about how much trouble and cost to form.

If I'm recalling the same article, I think he first used a modified shell holder and a .222 FL die to push the shoulder back. Bullberry makes an inexpensive tool to move the shoulder so forming should be a snap and RCBS may still have the dies.
