Just got back from Marshalltown, IA interviewing for a job(currently unemployed). Stopped in at Scheels in Iowa City and they had several Coopers, one in a Tact 20. Beautiful gun!! Makes me almost want to get a job so I can add it to my collection??! Anyone from around that area that can tell me about any hunting possibilities or shooting clubs in the area?

Nail down the area a little more closely please. I am in Colfax Ia. about 40 mi from MarshallTown. I have hunted this area for 40 yrs.

I'm looking at a possible job at Swift in Marshalltown. Are there any sportsmen or shooting clubs in the area? Any input on how the coyote hunting is?? Thanks.

For 25 yrs I lived between Newton & Marshalltown. Moved to Colfax a year ago in Aug. It`s 20mi.closer to my work in Des Moines. And have hunted all over that area. Marshalltown has a very active Ikes Chapter. Am sure there are many others. The hunting is great all along the Iowa River Drainage (Great Fishing too if your into that). I am joining a Club in Knoxville that runs Varmint Benchrest(guys coming from Missouri,Illinois,Wisconsin & all over Iowa) through the Summer. Its 35 miles from me so would be about 60 from Marshalltown.
As for the Coyote hunting, am told it is very good. I have never done it myself but have vacation next week and intend to try calling. You can email me if you have questions you don`t wish to post here. Keep in touch!
