Parent case is the .218 bee. The 17 Hebee that I shoot is similar to the 17 ackley bee. Good price for a reamer, especially considering what my Javelina reamer just cost.

I shot the coyote with 11.6g bluedot using a james calhoon 25g dblhp at around 100 yards. I had a fragmentation exit on the other side the size of a pea. The yote did the jig dance and crash and burned after 7 feet. I called the gray fox on X-Mas day with my foxpro caller w/remote, and I shot him with my remington 700 17M4 conversion rifle and 11.6g bluedot using hornady 20g Vmax bullets. I had no exit and no pelt damage on either one. The bluedot w/20g Vmax is going 3,600fps, and it has about the same noise as a 22 mag, the same recoil as a 22 lr, and the trajectory of a swift. The bluedot loads are really good for pelt hunting and the low noise is a big plus, too. Thanks-redfeather.

I am not sure where this came up, but I believe that JD has done this. I think that the subject matter had more to do with making Mach IV brass from .223 instead. But the same principle applies. I think that Redding offers forming dies to do what you are requesting.

I make 221 from 223. I bought Redding form dies. You will need a strong press like the RCBS Rock Chucker. Not real hard to do but it will put wear on a aluminum press. It is done in two dies. then just FL size before you laod. I think I paid aroud 61.00 shipped from Midsouth. In my opinion its not really worth it if you dont have to. You will need to neck turn or ream the brass also. It will give you some reduced capicity brass when froming from military 223. I had plans for a 17 IV rimmed. After seeing how big of a pain in the A$$ making this case is I lost intrest. I will send my 221 encore barrel off to have the rim cut sometime soon. 221 R is a real nice little case. Just been too tied up with other things to shoot much lately. If you need any assistance feel free to email me gard729774@aol.com I dont sell bras but would help your with your questions about forming it.

This one is a smaller cross fox. Hit him with the 17 rem , a full load 24g of 4320 and a 25g starke. This one was the reason I started asking Redfeather for reduced load data. really tor him up, but I tried not to show it in the pics. All is well , I sewed up the pelt and you really can't tell.

This is the last one I have right now. he is a med sized cross fox , got this one christmas eve. The 17 rem with 10 gr of blue dot and a 25 gr starke did a perfect job on this one, 150 yds out. No pelt damage at all on this one. The reduced loads are really sweet shooting loads. in my 17 rem , they feel like hot 22 mag loads and you can see the hits. The rifle is a 700 classic that has had all the tricks done to it, this one shoots as good as the custom encore.
see ya

I like those pretty fox you get on Kodiak. I never got down there when I lived in Alaska. Keep posting these nice pic's of the bd loads, and there effects on predators because I enjoy seeing the results. Thanks.
