To All, I an in need of some fire formed .14 Hornet cases and several projectiles. Is there a difference in the Walker and Ackley versions in .14 caliber?? Need a few cases to get neck and throat dimensions for a reamer. Yea Ha. I dissambled my Anschutz 1430 last night and removed the barrel. Looks like it is time to try something a little different. Corbin: Why don't you give Dave at Pacific Precision a call, he does most of the reamers for the 14's nowadays. His address and phone are on my site..cyberport.net/russ/bullets.htm russ

Check out the article in the article section entitled "Hebee article". I believe that the fireforming loads that I used are in there and should do the job for the AB that you are using as well. Reloder 7 is the powder that i used. Since you say that you already have loading data, you can also reduce from those charges a couple of grains and work up from there until you are blowing out the case pretty full. Don't try to blow them out to perfect crisp shoulders or you may end up splitting a neck/shoulder. I also am a believer of annealing before fireforming. What this does is softens the brass that has been work-hardened during the case forming steps. Others have fireformed without annealing and have experienced satisfactory results. Congratulations on the BEE, you are gonna love it. The favorite powders for mine were Reloder 7 and n130. The 20 grain Starkes are also the best in mine. The 20 grain V-maxes do a good job also.

I use 12grs of 4198, and the Remington 25gr bullet. Strongly suggest you anneal before fire forming. If you don't you'll get a lot of split necks on the second loading...

Sounds like we set the hook on another one. You will love the .17, and feel free to ask any questions that you have. Don't forget to share your results with us also. The woodchucks in your area are gonna be nervous.
