Just took posession of a Contender 14" MK4 barrel. A Guy told me that he has used rifle scopes before on Contenders. Says certain models of Burris and a couple of others have enough adjustment on the Eye Relief that you can adjust it right for arms length shooting. Anyone have any experience along these lines??? Another question. I'm having trouble keeping the mildew out of my safe. I have an 8 Watt Golden Rod on the bottom, on the Rifle side. Leather slings less that 6" from the Golden Rod, turn green after about 3 months. I thought maybe I wasn't getting enough circulation, so I cut 1 1/8 " off of all the shelves and the middle divider because the carpet covering was apparently sealing against the door. Anybody had this problem and able to solve it?

OK, am trying to buy some older frames. Is there anything I need to know about the older ones? Any restrictions on barrels? I see some of the frames on auctions that appear NOT to have the selective hammer on them. Others say "easy open". What do I need to look for? Many thanks. Rich

The easy open frames are the most recent frames. They should all have the selective hammer from my understanding. I have an older (non-easy opening) frame and it works fine. I understand that T/C will convert the older ones to easy open for free. I have 2 contender frames, one new one and one old one. I think that you should mainly be concerned about the condition. T/C is real good about their warranty and will fix anything that needs fixing - or replace the frame if it is stretched or damaged. I have not had to send anything back to them so far, and have only heard that their service is good. To me, good service is not having to send something back in the first place.
