I assume the barrel length is 24". I can trade a ruger 10/22 in fair condition. I'm looking for a 17 Rem classic. I am trading a rem 222 with 24" factory bull barrel too. Any takers?

Kurt,
I know where there is a 17 rem classic. The only modification is that I installed a Shilen trigger. A friend of mine ownes the rifle and it may have been fired 200 times max. He might be interested in the 222 bull barrel.
Drop me aline tomorrow to discuss. 919-554-2805 est. Corbin

if it has a Shilen trigger I'm even more interested. Have you spoken to him about this already? Is it a straight swap barrel for rifle? The barrel is actually 23.5" and is a about a .850 diameter. That is as close to accurate as I can get with a tape measure. I don't have any calipers. I have fired 100-150 rounds thru it. Broken in with fire 1 and clean for 10 then fire 2 and clean for 10. Standard copper jacketed bullets were used, no moly for break-in.
I hope this helps,

There is plans in place for another 600 yard match next month at the Bridgeville range. Here is what Bill Truitt says: I want to offer a sub cal challenge, and a pistol challenge. Will make awards for both. like to see some of the 17 bullets fly at 600. Have a few takers now. Looks like a good opportunity for the .17's to give it a fly. I am not sure that I will have the Javelina ready, but might have to push my efforts to get it ready. Might be fun for sure. Any others that might be within a couple of hours of Dover Delaware?

Jim,
Give me heads up as to when the match will be held. Also can we shoot all day? I am not interested in driving 9hours and only shoot 10 shots. The .17 is ready to go.Corbin

I think that you can enter multiple times for multiple guns. Not sure if they would allow entering the same gun multiple times, but would be worth a try. I agree, not much shooting. I am going to try to have the Javelina done in time to shoot it. The smith just got the barrel, should have it assembled next week. Of course, this is a lightweight gun with a sporter barrel designed for carrying. Not exactly what would be competitive at 600 yards, but I might give it a shot. I'll likely be using the bipod since my front rest doesn't adjust down that narrow. And 30 grain Starkes will likely be the bullets that I use. If I had some of the Kindler 29 grain BT's, they might be just the ticket.
