the woodchuck den came a coupla days ago. These things looks fantastic and I placed an order for a few hundred to try in the new Javelina. I just picked up the javelina last night and look forward to completing the case forming now that I have the gun in hand to properly FL size the brass. The 9 twist PacNor super match barrel should be just the ticket for these new high BC bullets. I couldn't believe the bc on these things - .280. I also have some of his 29 grain boat tails to try. Give Todd Kindler a call to get in line for some of these bullets if you are intending to do any long range shooting. I am really hoping to have a realistic 400 yard hog gun with these bullets and the Javelina case pushing them. I'll post pics of the Javelina when I get a chance - I'll be mounting the scope soon.

Jim I hope have as much fun with your new pac-nor 17 as I've had with mine in the last 10 days or so. Chris made a 22", 9 twist 17 Rem. standard match .685 at the muzzle.(not very sexy I know, but its my first 17)I screwed it on an action got my loading and cleaning gear and went to the range for a couple of days Ha! (winter has been kind to us in Nebraska). The results are as follows. The 20gr Vmax shoot in the 2's & 3's at 4419 fps according to the 35P using AA2520. I did get to 4657 fps but not quite as accurate, 7s to 9s. The 25gr Hornadys gave up some accuracy to the 20s running .5s &.6 at 4100 fps same powder. Barrel easy to clean and never copper fouled even during Chris's recommended break-in. Side note, I found some AA2520 load data on another page that Corbin Shell had posted and my speeds and pressures seemed to agree very close, BIG HELP. I hope to try this little 7 1/2 pound walking varminter in a SD dog town come June. I may get some of those 30 grainers from Todd when I can. Have fun with your new toy.

You seem to like the speed. Try N540... Very clean, mega velocity. They say it burns in two stages. I would love to have some one hook up a strain guage and look at the pressure curve. Anyway, I made the mistake of waiting a year or two before tring it... My favorite powder, hands down........jh

Jody Thanks for the heads up I'll give it a try. I did try some Blue Dot loads a few days ago and managed some good groups 4s and 5s with both the 20gr Vmax and the 25 HP. Speeds ran from 3300fps to 3000fps repectively. A ball to shoot, should be just the ticket for walking through a large dogtown
