I do happen to have a few left if anybody is interested. If there is something that you would like to see diferent, please let me know so that I can make the changes on future orders. Maybe my lame digital pic doesn't do it justice. I'll see if I can get a better pic.

Thank you Mr. Cook - well done |

Just got finished reading Mr. Cook's article in the Spring edition of Small Caliber News on the .17 CCM. I have to say that it was one of the most enjoyable small caliber articles that I have read in quite some time, maybe ever . If there is anybody that reads that article that doesn't get a hankering for a CCM, shame on them - WOW. Just thought that I'd thank him here first. It is amazing the number of small caliber shooters that we have brought togethor here and the cumulative wealth of information. I enjoy reading about all of your projects and Cook's article certainly expressed my feelings on new projects in words that I couldn't have written better myself.

I’ll be looking forward to reading the article. As I live in Australia, it takes 10-12 weeks for my Small Calibre News and VHA magazines to arrive here. At least I get Precision Sooting via airmail! Fergus

Yeah, I always get my PS late. You probably already have your March edition. I haven't gotten mine yet but others have had it for 2 weeks.

Jim You are right, I got my Mar issue 4 days ago. It always surprises me that I get my copy in Australia, but others in the US are complaining on some of the forums. Its nice to know I get one publication as quickly as everyone else! Fergus

What kind of accuracy could I expect using one of these? Assuming I'm using a rifle capable of sub-MOA groups with .223 ammo, and I use quality .22LR ammo with the adapter, would 1" groups at 50 yds be possible? Is there a specific brand that you would recommend? Thanks.

I have not had much luck with my adapter for my T/C Contender chambered in 223. With handloads the pistol will shoot better than 1" @ 100 yds and with the 22LR adapter it looks like a shotgun pattern @ 25yds (more like 2-3" really).

This does not surprise me. Accuracy may be a bit better with 22 Magnum though due to the difference in bore diameters. 22 LR barrels, and one would assume that the addaptor would be the same, are around 0.221 bore diameter while the 223 centerfire puts a jacketed bullet through a 0.223 bore. Since the 22 magnum shoots the same bullet diameter as the 223 the centerfires barrel would allow less blowby and "steer" the bullet much better. I think you can get just about any sub-caliber (misnomer) adaptor you want from Lothar-Walther though. So if youy wanted to shoot Hornets through your 223 you could.
