While browsing benchrest.com I found an article titled Catalytic Surface conversion. This was located on www.smallcaliber.com, the website of Small Caliber News. This is about a new Barrel treatment that many of the top benchrest shooters have been using for years. Apparently this treatment reduces barrel and throat erosion, thereby increasing barrel life significantly (I sure could use this, barrels are just too expensive!). It also stated that barrels foul less and are easier to clean. I certainly could use this when I go prairie dog hunting this summer. Has anyone else heard of this treatment or has had their barrels treated? I am going to send off one of my barrels as soon as possible. I will let you know how it works.
Does anyone subscribe to Small Caliber News? It sounds like a great magazine. I am going send in my money today. Related link: http://smallcaliber.com

"Speedy retired his CSC treated barrel after shooting 3,700 rounds. A co-worker proceeded to put another 1,500 rounds on it and was still shooting .25-inch groups. The barrel was then shortened and placed on a varmint pistol. Prairie dog hunting put another 3,000 rounds on it and it was still shooting .25-inch groups. I certainly wouldn't mind having a barrel that still shot .25-inch groups after digesting over 8,000 rounds!" That last sentence is an understatement! I didn't find the listing of what price is, do you know? thanks

Hello,
How much does it cost for a barreled action to be treated?
Thanks,
Larry

I couldn't get J-Tex on the phone so I called Speedy Gonzales. He said that it costs around $75.00 per rifle barrel. Speedy stated that this is a bargain by anyone's standards.

jd just let me know where its next destination is. i would like to track it.
p.s. do you realy think a man who just had back surgery should be yelling and screaming like that , he could hurt himself which was not the intent of sending him the video.
