Can't have a lousy shooting Cooper out there to spoil their reputation! I'm curious if different brass solves the splitting problem, please keep me posted...... Dan C

This is my 1st post on this forum, have been reading it quite often though. I noticed Hodgdon posted H380 for the 17 Rem and thought I would give it a try and bingo....I started shooting bugholes with my Rem 17 BDL....they show the max load as 26gr with a 25gr bullet, I stopped at 25 grains of H380 with a berger moly 25gr bullet. I hope this will be beneficial to you 17 Rem shooters.

Good information. Did you get any velocities from it? I understand that it is a favorite powder for the .22-250 also. Is the H380 in their extreme powders line? Thanks for sharing.

I did not have a chronograph, however I believe that it was advertised around 3950fps, I have also had great results with this powder using the 55gr nosler bal tip in .243. Not sure about the powder extreme.

I'm having Sharpshooter Supply set me up with a Douglas 17 Mach IV barrel (1-9 twist)for my Savage 12 BVSS. I'm slow getting all the reloading dies and materials to reload the 17. Can someone tell what their favorite bullet is for the 17 Mach IV??

25 grain Starkes. With the 9 twist barrel, you may even want to try some of the 30 grain Boattails (GOLD) that Todd Kindler has just started making. They have a very high BC and should do well for long range shooting.

My favorite bullet is the Kindler 25 BT. Great accuracy, high BC, extremely good terminal performance. Load is 16.8 of H4198. Are you planning to Moly? Good luck. Rich
