I have dearly enjoyed hanging out on other forums and shall continue to do so. I have come here in the past and browsed, savoring the nuances of the smaller caliber crowd (although my calibers are .224 and .243). But as of today I have become (at least) an honorary menmber of the 17 club. I have wanted a 17M4 for quite a while now, and I definitely had one of those "I want it now" things going on. I could not immediately find what I really wanted (a Cooper in 17M4), but I did find a Sako 75 in 17 Rem. I have a Sako 75 in 223 and it is a wondeful weapon (shoots in the 2s with the right load). I expect the 17 Rem to be the same. My eventual goal is to set the barrel back and rechamber the Sako to 17M4. But until then, any input on the 17 Rem would be greatly appreciated. You will enjoy the Sako in a 17 rem caliber, and also as a 17M4 conversion. The 17M4 has become my favorite 17 rifle. The 17's are way to much fun - enjoy. |

Hard to beat the .17 Remington for it's versatility. It makes a very nice entry into the Small Caliber Club. You'll be surprised at the effectiveness of the cartridge. Welcome to the site. |
