If you need a good funnel for your .17 cal then call on Emery Harriger at buckmaster@usachoice.net they are only $10 each and well worth it. He even made me one for the .223, said it was the first but has more on hand to send out. No back orders from Emery. Try one, you will love it!!

I saw a picture of one and sent him an e-mail. He replied that he would send one when he had some more done. I haven't heard anything back yet but am looking forward to replacing my plastic RCBS funnel with that piece of work. I don't hardly use a funnel anymore since I have the Harrell's powder measure, but it will be nice to have when I need one.

This is my first post on here, but have enjoyed listening to everyone . I acquired a custom built .17 Rem. last fall and used it to add to my collection of coyote hides to sell. First rifle I'd ever used that didn't do too much damage. My question is,has anybody been successfull in down loading .17 rem to equal the .17 hrm ? I've got a good supply of 17gr.v max bullets but no idea where to start.Sure do appreciate the help. TomR TomR

For light loads in the 17rem/m4 I got some good advise from Redfeather a while back. Blue dot , 7.5-11g . I have been using 10g of blue dot for all my fox hunting, I was loading the same bullet and charge in both of my 17's with great results. mine were fed 205M primers , starke 25 g hp's and 10g bd @ right around 3000fps. This was a great fur load for me this year, I took 10 foxes with average shots at 100yds and longest at 200,5 jumbo Kodiak island foxes , and 5 arctics. No pelt damage on the big boys here, but on two of the arctics(probably the size of grays but with 2" fur) I did have exits that needed to be sewn, maby 2" tears, not bad for a fox tho. This one shoots 1/2" or better in my 17 rem. I have also used this same load with the 20g v-max's with some sucess, but not the same accuracy, these were shooting somewhere around 1" @ 100. I think the 17g Vmax bullets would do fine with these loads. Not sure if its enough bullet for coyotes, but would probably be fine on fox and smaller critters. Ok, now for my question . Where did ya get them there 17 grainers??? I would surely like to get my hands on some, but havn't seen them anywhere. see ya

Tom load them up cause they will go in but they won't come out.
Where did you get the 17gr. bullets? Boy they would be great in a 17 AH!.
Your friend, Chucker.

Thanks for the info guys! I got the 17grainers from a friend that works a cci/speer.I worked up to 26grs of Varget and rem.br primers.Seemed like I could have run out of powder space before having to stop but didn't press the issue.I trap and hunt in the winter and just reload to have ammo for the next day.Of 65 coyotes 9 were killed with 17gr.vmax it seemed to stun them more than the 25s even if they weren't dead instantly. The 25s sometimes let them run a ways but they are always dead. These 17 gr.bullets were a screw up by the engineers as they were a hair too long for the rimfire. I imagine they just lightened up the 20gr. bullet as these held together pretty well.I'm too cheap to buy the rimfire and just wanted to duplicate its loads. Thanks again, Tom TomR
