I took a 22 mag, pulled the bullet, sized and trimmed it, loaded a cast 5mm bullet into it and shot it in the basement. Will this thing shoot at 50 or 100 yards. Has anybody ever done this before? Let me know, Nailman.... |

Should work OK. Accuracy will depend some on how much the bullet is being distorted in the process I would guess. If the cases are that close in size, why not load with 5mm jacketed? Unless you just "happened" to have the cast bullets around. Either way sounds like fun. Except having to throw all that effort away with each fired case. Personally I would go with a centerfire conversion...but that's just me. |
