I know that this is a small bore forum but I thought you guys would be the one to ask. I have a 40x 222 27" barrel and have not spent a lot of time working up a load. Just wondering if any one will share thier favorite load for accuracy. Looking for a good starting point. |

I have had great luck with AA2015BR and 40-50 gr. bullets. I am getting about 3720 with a 40 V-Max out of a 26" barrel, so yours should do even better.......... Don't know the exact weight of powder, but it is almost a case full........ Rich |

If you want to shoot 52 grain pills, AA2015, H322, N133 and H4198SC work will. My favorite 52 grain load was using 2015. I believe it was 22-23 grains? If you want to use 40's, H4198SC is the way to go. I use 23.5 grs in my 40XBR w/20" bbl and I am getting 3750 fps and 3's and 4's groups. Work up your loads and be safe. Mike |
