Hi Terrier Man
Only just noticed your post on who done the work on my A/H
I ordered my barrel through a a******e of a gun smith who had not even started on the job 15 months after i ordered it through him and eight months after he had barrel and dies in his shop
The cheapest i could get it fitted was over £200 and not for at least 3 months because of the amount of work on his list.
The donor gun is a Ruger 77/22Hornet heavy stainless barrel laminate stock which has the barrel screwed into the action it unscrewed very easily indeed after i made a barrel clamp i screwed the PacNor pre-chambered 24" stainless barrel into the action and measured the space between the bolt and chamber face put it on the old lathe that i have and carefully machined the shoulder on the barrel untill i had less than 1.5thou between them. it was now fitted! the bigest job was cutting the extractor grove but soon done caerfully with a hacksaw.
I now have a switch barrel 22Hornet/17A/H
