    Hi Foxpounder
Like you my main hobby is foxes which I usually tan for resale.Last year we got just under 100 foxes , 99 % head shot using Mach1V & Fireball bit I have found even the Fireball can punch holes out of the back of the head. I'm currently experimenting with my 204 in Weatherby sub moa for foxes this year , also, but I have just received my supply of 30 grain Bergers. Have only had a chance to test out 2 lots using BM2 (Benchmark over your way) ,accuracy good at about 1/2 inch but only around 3200/3300 fps. Will let you know how it goes. Also send you a couple photos of last years haul. Email address baa1943@bigpond.com.

George, I have not done anything with my .204 yet. I have a microhunter in the .17AH that I shoot fox with and I have an Abolt II in the .204 that I shoot coyotes with. Here in the east, the .204 is all that I need for coyotes but I have become such a fan of the .17 that I was thinking of doing the Abolt II 17/204.
I really enjoyed the whole process of the 17AH. Just thinking about another project. I have a LIlja barrel on the AH. How's the Shilen barrel compare? Do you do the smithing for hire? Would you be interested in doing this project?

Foxpounder: noticed you earlier discussing 17/204 vs. 17P......

I bit the bullet and ordered a reamer and gauges from PTG for the 17/204.....

I've got the Shilen barrel, so am ready to go when the tools arrive.

Where are you in your project?

    George
