Sorry for my very late response. I suspect Ramos probably makes premium VT cases. However, I have formed cases from Nosler, Lapua and Remington brass using the .17 FB forming die as recommended by Adam Bentley (you can search on his posts to get his exceptional description for forming from .223 or .221) and they come out as close to perfect as I could ask. They are not short. I used a newly formed case from virgin brass to headspace my .20VT on a Savage action, so it was set up to the virgin case. The result is I have over 8 reloads on those cases now, and I have yet to trim one of them, never had a split neck (I neck size only). I installed a .20 caliber carbide expander in my Redding die with a carbide bushing. I can shoot, clean and size without ever even having to lubricate the cases due to the carbide sizing internal and external.

Thank you for your response to the 17-222 thread. I have a quick question related to forming 20VTG. I have seen some posts indicating that the reduction of 221 FB to 17FB results in the case length being short (neck length gets short). Is this also the case when forming 20VTG?
I believe this is why Ramos prefers to form from a 223 case.
