Chuck. Don't know if you have any gun smiths in your local area. I have had fine results with one I deal with on re-chambering a few of my barrels. I would check some local ones first then reach out to other places.
I would either contact Par-nor or talk with Manson Reamers if you want to obtain a reamer or have them do the work. About all I can offer on this end. Bill K

Hi Bill: Wondered if you have a suggestion for me. I have an old Pac-Nor 12 twist .224 barrel that I would like to have chambered in 22BR. I do have new 1,250 factory Remington primed brass available, but would rather go with a Norma chambering. I also would like a 0-0.030 freebore reamer. I plan on, hopefully, shooting the 53 gr V-Max or Nos 53 gr Varmageddon bullets.

Do you have any suggestions for a rental or reamer manufacturer?

    Chuck

Yes, I thought I sent a PM telling you. All safe and sound now. I thought you would just keep that shell holder instead of returning it.
I will hang onto it, someone else may need one or you might want a second one. Stay safe and well and do a lot of shooting. Bill K

    Bill,
Did you receive the shell holder for the 4.6 x 30. I sent it about a week ago.

    Bill,
I thought I read you were looking for a CZ 527 magazine. There is one on Acc. Shooter today.

I have and am also playing some with 4198 and results are comparable. May work some more with it.
However, right now, I have a good supply of 1680 and it works.
I could or would take 50-100 cases, if you could spare them. Let me know a price.

I'm afraid I sent two PMs Didn't think the first one went thorough.
Oh well, some day I'll get the hang of this.
I'm getting about the same results with the 1680 but I believe with the current situation 4227 might be easier to find. I started off using VV N120 but it doesn't work any better than 4227 and its a hell of a lot more expensive.
Never would have tried 4227 had I not read it in the book. When I run out of things to do I've thought about trying a full case of 4198 as PO suggested.
The 17 hornet is a really fund cartridge.
I have a pretty good stash of hornet brass and could spare a little if you are running low. Don't want the varmints to go unmolested.

Bob: That is funny. As I am also using one load of 11.2 4227(IMR) with the 15.5 NTX and doing just about equal to yours.
I also have a load of 11.8 AA1680/15.5 ntx, that is right in the same ball park, 1/2 inch and smaller groups and 3800 ish. Both do a number on varmints, up to the size of Rock Chucks, within 150-200 yrds. Bill K

Back aways I sent you some info from PO Ackley's book on loading the 17 hornet.
What did you finally settle on and what kind of velocities and groups are you getting?
I've been using the 15.5 NTX and 11.2 grs of 4227. Velocities are around 3850 with 5 shot groups averaging around 3/8" and sometimes a little better. Probably would not have tried 4227 were it not for the book
Thought I'd check and see how you are doing.
