5.7x28mm Cases

I'll admit it, I'm a pack rat! I was at the range & found 75 of these odd cases & the first thing that struck me was they looked like a good candidate for a small caliber parent case. Long story short, they have been taking up space on my bench for quite a while & I thought someone here might want them. If you're interested, send a PM with your address & I'll get them out to you in an envelope for FREE.

Brass is spoken for

Thats the parent case for the .17x28 known here as the .17VR,
or Volociraptor. Longtime play toy of several started by: Foxhunter.

20gr v'max 9.5gr AA1680 = 3460fps. Loaded even faster with other powders.

Foxhunter posted a long list of his loading data several years ago. It's on here some place for all to see.

When I first started with it brass was impossible to find. Bought 250 5.7's from Midway & pulled the 40 gr v'max to use in .223. In order to get brass.

Made connections with others and now have around 5000 cases.
It takes a whole lot of them to fill a 50 cal can!

Good deal to share with others as you have. Thats the way most of us here have been sharing for years. Good to see the newer guys are doing the same.

The 17VHA, which is now the 17JAV (John Anderson Varminter) is based off the 4.6x30mm.
