Factory loaded 20 VT ammo?

Available? Doesn't seem so. The 20 VT is a wildcat and gauges are what YOU make of them? Formed case works for a head space gauge, for me at least.

The only place I know where loaded 20 vartarg ammunition can be purchased is Hendershots. When I first made my 20VT, I purchased ammunition from them. It was made in house so it was not considered factory ammunition. There was really no accuracy to speak of, 1" or so at a 100 yards. And not all the ammunition would chamber since the neck had not been turned to match my chamber. There wasn't a headspace problem and no primer issues. I only purchased a small amount around 20 rounds I think. The few that wouldn't chamber were taken apart and the components were reused.

I've often wonder if others had the same experience with Hendershot's ammo. Back in 2004 I bought a box of 17 M4 for 49.00/50 which still gripes me. It was total crap, I still have most it. I keep it as a reminder of what not to do again.

I thought HSM made 20VT or did at one time.

I thought the same Sherm. I know they did, if they still are, I have not checked lately. :)

Just curious...any feedback on these?

L.Sherm 01-24-2022 02:42 AM

No I haven't heard any.

I have gotten in trouble around here for saying it...but I wished someone would just get around to finally legitimizing the VT. It answers more questions than many of the "new" wonder calibers do.:) JMHO
