I miss the good old days...

I miss the good old days when Berger made bullets like the .257 78gr MEF.

And the 22 cal 50gr hp
And the 204 35gr target hp

I hear you guys. Same with many of the .30s are unobtanium.

They haven't been the same since Lapua took over.

I've since switched to some of their competitors.

I agree .256WM - however I wish for 15gr. Bergers to try in my .17Rem with 26" bl. I would like to "see" what the do to a 100 yard gopher when started at 5,000fps.

Have you tried launching any of the Hornady 15.5 grain Vmaxs?

That bullet is not really a V-Max, it is a no lead NTX style Hornady puts out.
It is about the only bullet I use any longer in my 17's, due to state being non-lead on game.
I can tell you it really explodes small varmints in the 3900-4000 FPS I get, so if the party really gets 5000, it may not make it too the target or if it did, it should really vaporize them. :D

That would be interesting, but not available here, at least I've never seen them up here. We can get 20gr. Vmax and the odd box of 25gr Vmax.

Daryl I need to have a look but I think I've still got some of them.....Kiwi

Tks for the offer, but nowadays it will cost 3 times more then their value, just to mail them. I'll stick with the 20's at 4,500fps. The do a cracker job.
