CZ Safari rifles
I've used my CZ in 500 and 404 Jeffrey to plink at squirrels, great summer pastime... beats shooting at targets in a range... thoughts?

lil bit overkill, but effective and good practice. LOL:D

Folks around here look at me like I'm nuts (probably true) because I use my 45-70, 40-65, or 38-50 Hepburn to shoot ground squirrels. I shoot off cross sticks and use lighter lead bullets but its great practice, and it makes you really concentrate on yardage. Besides, big clouds of white smoke and small mushroom clouds of dust are just cool.:D
Ground squirrels around here seem to catch heck, what ever my new project is or my new purchase gets used on them. We have shot them with 14's, 8mm, 7mm Mauser's, 7.62 Russian's, 50 BMG, all sorts of Magnums, every 22 in the book and some not in the book, ML's..... and they just never learn they keep coming back. Big darn rifles
17varminter; I think what your doing is great and alot more fun than punching holes in paper all the time. I use to shoot Jackrabbits with my 30-06 once in a while we I lived in Texas. And now I use my 45-70`s to shoot beavers on my uncle`s ponds down in OKLA. If you hit them just right you can blow them clear up on the bank, ever once in a while. Keep me posted. And enjoy you rifles. ken

one of my grandfathers friends used to say 'did you know, the larger the gun, the small the target, the bigger the smile' works for me everytime.....
