I pre-ordered. Hope to have them soon. FYI everyone: Berger will do one production run per year and you can pre-order through Graf. Let's keep the demand up for this fine bullet (i.e., shoot the hell out of your rifles!).

Only issue Jordan, with them, is we can not shoot them to hunt critters any longer, strictly paper targets. The bullets must be lead free to hunt with, for all game and non-game as of July, 2019. :(:( Bill K :)

I don't shoot a 204 so my question is more out of curiosity. Why if you are shooting a small caliber like the 204 would you want to shoot a seemingly heavy grain bullet in the 204? All of my friends who shoot 204's shoot a 32 gr bullet.

In my 220 Swift I shoot a 55 gr but that just seems heavy for a 204. I guess I always put it in category between the 17 Remington and 220 Swift/22-250.

90 % if my 20 calibers are used with the 32 grainers also. But on occasion I do like to throw a heavier bullet out past 300 yrds. And when I do I use the 46.5 grain bullets from Badger Bob ( site member) I guess just more for kicks than a real need. Bill K :)

The BC on the 55 is extremely good, and the terminal performance on coyotes and other critters is exceptional. It turns the 204 ruger into something else all together. Legitimately capable of consistently shooting pdogs at 800yds in the right conditions. Lots of guys have kills out beyond 1000yds with them.

In the big 20's, like a 20 dasher... this bullet is a phenom. It's just a whole unique other thing.

It's just a fantastic bullet, and those of us that really liked them were devastated when they said they were discontinuing it.

Will these Bullets work ok in an 11 twist .204.

Rocklong 10-04-2019 06:29 PM

Never mind I see they recommend a minimum of 1-8” twist for these

Don't know about the 55 grain Berger's. But the 46.5 one's do just fine in my 1/11 204 barrels. 204R and 20-223AI. Bill K :)

The 20 cal 55gr Berger is somewhat of a specialty bullet and due to its twist requirements requires a purpose built gun so it's understandable why it's not a real popular choice among the 20 caliber shooting community.

BUT, if you do have a purpose built gun to shoot this particular bullet, you won't be disappointed because it is a badazz little mother lover. I shoot a fair amount of 53gr Vmax and for 22 cals in the 53-55gr range the 53gr Vmax is somewhat of a top dog, but when I sit the 20 Cal 55gr Berger next to a 53gr Vmax, the Berger looks like a tall thin hot looking runway model and the 53Vmax looks like your best friends fat sister. ;)
