Teslong in a 20 cal.

I purchased a TESLONG bore scope for $49 on Amazon. Nice unit, easy to use, but wouldn'tfit in my PAC NOR 20 VT. After inspecting the mirror end I could see the mirror was larger than the screw on tube. I used fine emery to sand it flush and it slides in the barrel(tight, so careful).

Teslong Borescope

I have one of these too. I found that it would fit my friend's .204, but will not fit either of my 5mm Rem. Mags. I'll try your fix.
I've had the Lyman bore scope for several years and all of a sudden, between sessions it just quit. Lyman says they don't repair these when they're out of warranty and offered to sell me another one for half price. After trying the Teslong I'm not going back for another Lyman. The Lyman is a little easier to use due to the rigid tube but the optical quality of the Teslong is just a lot better. I can expand the picture to about a foot across.

Teslong Borescope

Following 358SCOTT's clue, I found that the top of the mirror does indeed stick out over the edge of the tube. I measured it at about 0.203". Most of the rest of the assembly measured around 0.196". I dressed the edge down with 400 grit and finished with 600 grit and the area now measures about the same as the lower portion. It will now go easily down the bores of both my Remington 591, 5mm Mag. barrels. Thanks Scott!

I was going to pull the trigger on one, but they are not compatible with my IPhone. I may have to get a Android tablet or a small notebook for my gun related stuff, reloading data and such.

I purchased a Teslong bore scope a few weeks ago.

Amazon had them shipped for around $53.

Boy, I've got some ratty barrels ! Mostly from poor quality manufacturers.

I did over heat a few on dog towns though.

It hooked up, and works on my desk top, as well as my lap top.

I'd definitely recommend one !

It did fit my 204 s snug.

Thank you gentlemen for the info. I had no idea that technology had advanced enough to make a bore scope so affordable. I think the time has come for me to acquire one. Once we get some more Amazon inventory in Canada that is.... Obliged.

They now have one that will work with IPhones.

I have used mine on my Samsung phone and on the laptop. Picture on the laptop is quite a bit better but the smart phone and the Teslong are really handy for gun shows. You can get a real good look at the bore of a gun you want to buy. Amazing how many rifles for sale are worn, pitted, bad bore, heavily coopered. It really helps with price negotiations. I ordered mine off the U.S. Amazon site, came out to $65 Canadian including shipping.

Thanks for the tip Dean2. I've never tried using US Amazon shipped to Canada.

I actually found one that goes in a .17 barrel and is BT. It is not a high quality image, but good enough to see everything I need to see.

Guess I lucked out. My Teslong mirror fits .20 caliber barrels with no modifications. I was able to scope the following barrels: a factory R700 .204 Ruger, a Lilja .204 Ruger and a Shilen .20 BR with no problems.
