What do you guys use for powder dippers? I'm having static problems.

I'm using the Lee powder measure kit, the little yellow plastic dippers, and I'm having a lot of trouble with static. I tried dryer sheets, but H335 and CFE223 are really bad. When I get the dipper near the powder, the powder literally jumps out of the pan on the scale and back on to the dipper. Tapping in a few extra kernels is tedious since I'm putting some in and the static is taking some back out at the same time.

What is everyone using for powder dippers? Does someone make aluminum ones? I switched from plastic funnels to the Hart aluminum powder funnels and they are much better so I was wondering if someone made metal dippers.

Rub with a dryer sheet.

If the dryer sheet treatment doesn't work, get some powdered graphite and coat the dippers well with it, rub it in. And, wear nitrile gloves while you do it ;).

It's winter. You need to add some humidity to your house.

Also, washing the dippers in warm water with some dishwashing detergent and dry them off with a towel.

You could also use or make metal dippers by using some pistol cases like 380, 9mm, 38Spl, 44Mag, cases. Cut them off to make smaller ones. If they are too hard to hold, you could always solder some heavy copper wires or thin brass sheet stock to make handles.

Try a used drier sheet

I'll second the idea of used brass as a dipper. Damage a piece of brass? Trim it down to remove the neck and shoulder, solder on a 6" piece of brass tubing and you have a dipper.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll play with the dryer sheets some more. I'm also going to try using the brass or come up with something else on my own.

I just ordered a 12" piece of 3/8" brass tube from Ace hardware. $3.17 shipped to the store. I measured my Lee dippers and they are a little less than 4" long so I figure I can make three different brass ones from the piece of tube.

I'm going to check the volume on some 45 ACP, 40 S&W, and 9 mm brass against my Lee dippers before I start cutting up rifle brass, figure out which will give me the volumes I want, then solder some up and see how they work.

I sure hope you're not using the dippers for charging your cases.

Only to trickle a bit more in the scale pan.

They are NOT accurate enough for "right on max loads"

No, I'm not charging cases.

I use a scoop and put it on the pan, then trickle a little more on to the pan. I'm just having a lot of trouble with H335 and CFE223. The powder is horrible for static. I bought the Hart aluminum powder funnels and will make some brass dippers.
