17 caliber game bullets

Does anyone or has anyone made a soft point for small game hunting with 17 caliber centerfire rifles?

Johnly 12-07-2021 11:46 PM

I think I have some custom soft points that were made long ago.
I'll go take a look and see what I find.

and I'm back...

I have a box of old 17 caliber 30 gr. SP Farley's Custom Bullets.
The tips are oxidized and the jackets dull.

Are those Herter's old wasp shaped ones, like the larger calibers ?

Just once out of a .17_204. I don't remember my load data but guessing I loaded them the same as my Nagel 30 pet loads.
Just a few but wasn't super impressed. Did not tinker to try n find better.
