I have often picked the brains of others on powder preference of a round, especially if I have not loaded for it. It can save some time narrowing it down to 2-3 powders. Most of the powder suppliers...

Back when I had a dogtown by the family farm, I could get close to 15 shots with the .22H before the dogs would go down. I would start out close in, and they would go down, but the ones further out...

The only ammo that is iffy anymore is Remington Golden and WW. The CCI/FED stuff is good quality and Aguila is also good. Wolf is an excellent lower priced ammo.

I agree with the too large ES, but for the .22H I can drop a full case, have a low psi load, "use sp primers with no psi signs" and shoot 1/2-3/4" groups at 100 yds with it. The .221 has long enough...

OP is wants a round for under 50yds. The .45 LC and .44M are nearly twins when loaded to max psi in a Ruger cylinder. I am just guessing that his reference to 900 fps is using a plain base cast...

I had a scoped Ruger Super RH with I believe 7 1/2" barrel, and I could blast bluerock at 100 yds. with it. I was just too bulky to carry, for "me". I sold it and got a S&W 629 with a 4" barrel and...

My .204R chamber has a short freebore. Just enough so Hornady factory ammo is .010 off and a tighter neck. RIO may be the one who first ordered the reamer, but I honestly can't recall. All I know is...
