I just pulled QL using Berger's 15gr bullet, QL doesn't list the 15.5gr Hornady, for the 17 Fireball and, WOW, those little buggers are capable of some seriously fast velocities.

Rem 7 1/2 Primer, 12.2gr 1680, 20gr Vmax in my two CZ 527 Varmint 17 Hornets works very well.

I have a friend that loads the 20gr Vmax with 12.4gr Hodgdon CFE BLK and that is working really well...

I'm a big fan of most things based off of the 284, with the 6-284 and 6.5-284 being my favorites.

What weight bullets are you going to shoot, 130 - 140 grainers? It's hard to find, ok, it's...

I had my 22-250 cut down from 24 to 18 this past fall. They definitely lose a good amount. I haven't run mine across the chronograph since I had it lopped off but I'd imagine it's lost somewhere...

Pulling the bullets on 17 WSM ammo is a real pain in the arse and is even more difficult when you're trying not to damage the case. They put the crimp of death on that stuff.

I was typing while you were posting, but it sounds like we had the same experience and if I recall, you've also shot a fair amount of the 15gr ammo in your 17 WSM as well and that stuff shoots really...

I don't know about these little 15 grainers in larger cases but they shoot pretty darn good in the factory ammo for the 17 Hornet and 17 WSM.

Any of the 17 cals based off of the 221 Fireball case...

Those little 20gr 17 cal bullets are bad enough to load, I could only imagine what it'll be like with those 15's. Use a set of tweezers to place the bullet in the neck maybe. lol
