I've been shooting a 223 suppressed and 20 VT unsuppressed for PD's for a 2-3 years now.
I also feel that the PD's stay up longer and/or come back up quicker when using the 223 suppressed.

Run the backside of a 1 inch and a 1/2 inch...
Run the backside of a 1 inch and a 1/2 inch reciprocal hacksaw blade along your grinder or belt sander to sharpen it,...........leave the burr.
You can enhance the burr by drawing the blade along...

New Hermes Engraver
I started out using an Etch-O-Matic commercial grade kit but switched to a New Hermes Engraver. The New Hermes is faster and is more traditional. Both do a good job.
