I shouldn't be but I am surprised the 17/204 doesn't blow up Fox. My 17 Rem.'s were not real consistent as Fox pelt savers so I used a 22 mag. more often than not.

I think I remember seeing cup bases on Rem. 17 cal. bullets also.

I will take note of that. 35gr. and 37gr. will be the bullet weight I concentrate on the most. In the past a 37gr. hp has been a real good pelt saver.

I have agree with foxhunter. A Kimber Montana rebarreled to a 17Rem. is what I normally carry in the mountains, but the one in 204 I have is a joy also.

I've used 35gr. Bergers and they worked great, but my favorite is a 37gr. that was sold be CRT (Custom Reloading Tools). CRT quit making them but Blaine at Blackhole Bullets duplicated them somewhat....

That's a hard one. A 17-204 would my first choice, but a Kimber Montana in 17Rem or the same in 204, both of which I own.
