Powder load following fireforming 20 PPC
What change can I expect in powder loads after fireforming 220 Russian Lapua brass? I have read that some people use the same powder load for fireformed brass in other cartridges and some use less. ...

Shooting suppressed
Just got back from shooting PDs. I was shocked that my suppressed 222 did not work any better for preventing them from going down at short distances. The expense and hassle of getting the...

22 Rimfire suppressor +
Silencer Co makes a take apart suppressor for rimfires called the Sparrow. I have found that it has to be cleaned after 350 rounds or it will become very difficult to take it apart. A suppressed...

25 cal V-Max
Bill:
Sorry - Made a mistake - meant to say that they made a shotgun pattern in my 1-10 barrel. Had the gun built in the 90's when the 17 gr V-Max did not exist. The Hornady 25gr HP would shoot...

Hornady 17 cal 25 gr HP
This bullet works in my 10 twist 17mach 4 while the 25 gr V-Max never makes it to the target and that is only @ 3750 fps. Under calm conditions will get 1/2 MOA groups. Does not work well in...

40gr 20 cal cartridge
A 20 Practical would not be much of a powder drop from a 20 PPC. A 20-222 would be less, but not as much as a 20VT. If I were to choose, I would go with the 20-222. JMO.

Sierra 50 gr Blitzking
I would trade for 20 cal 39 gr Sierras, but would not be back home (where they are) until April 1st. Probably too long a wait, but let me know if intterested.

20 Practical powder
I use H335 for the 39 gr Sierra. I assume Benchmark and W844 (older surplus) would also work.

25 gr 17 cal HP
They work in my 10 twist 17MIV barrel. 25 cal V-Max will not as they keyhole.

17MIV loads
I found that H335 worked well, but I kept my velocity at 3750. Benchmark is about the same for burning rate. I was never able to get better than 1/2" groups with 3 or 4 touching and 1 out of the...

+1 on Nor Cal Mikie's recommendation. If you have .254 necks, you will probably have to turn them to sllow some clearance for a .254 neck chamber. If you wind up with a barrel having a .250 neck...

17 Fireball or 17 MIV Twist
I highly recommend going with a 1 in 9 twist. My L461 in 17MIV with a 1 in 10 twist will keyhole the 25 gr V-Max bullet. I am able to shoot the Hornady 25 gr HP. but the BC is significantly lower...

I have a 223 that I am working up a load for. Most of my powders are from the 90's. Have H335, Win 748, WC844. H335 has been a favorite, but want to use up my Win 748. My old Hodgdon manual has a...
