The PPU factory loads had a failure rate close to 50%. Some older Hornady 45 SP ammo didn't have any problems at all. There was a third brand that I forgot about, but it fell in between.

Thanks for the input. I'm considering ordering a 17 WSM RimX prefit now that they show them as an option. I think I'll pay the extra to get the barrel lapped.

There's also the 224-32 FA based on the 327 Federal Magnum. That should fit a standard .378" bolt face, and you can get the dies from Freedom Arms.

I was able to verify that a 22 Rem Jet would fit the Grendel bolt of a Howa Mini, but a 218 Bee is too loose.

Granted 22 Rem Jet is currently unavailable, but its still a lot cheaper than 218...
