Looking at putting together 1 possible 2 Garins What are your experiences? Has anyone used other powders that lil-gun? I have RL7, n120 and LT-30 that I normally use in similar sized cartridges....

Howa Mini question

Has anyone used a Howa Mini for a 17 Fireball/20 vartarg or shorter cartridge? Was just curious if their magazine would handle a short cartridge.

not sure how it compares price wise or feature wise to the Seekins, but Murphy Precision offers a LA base with the option of #8 screws. I have a couple of theirs that I have been happy with.

I believe it is normal when going to an improved cartridge to set the barrel back a thread or two because the improved cartridge uses a slightly shorter headspace guage.

I think Ray H may have done this on a CZ ( or some other Saubier Member). If I recall correctly the hornet bolt was easier to convert because the depth of the bolt face is set for a rimmed cartridge...

I believe some folks had Hornady make dies at one point. Whidden gun works will also make dies if you send them fired cases, but not inexpensivee.
