Default the Gods have finally smiled upon me

And blessed me with a nice buck. It's been a poor season, between heat, wind and rain. My worst In several years. I didn't see much this morning. Being the peak of the rut you would have thought there'd be more activiy. I almost hung it up at 8:45 but something told me to stay. Didn't have much else to do anyway.

About 9:30 I caught movement. A deer was parallelling my stand about 80 yards out. I thought I saw horn so I hit the grunt tube and he stopped. Grunted again and he continued walking. One more grunt and he stopped. I did a snort wheeze with my mouth and that pissed him off. He came to my stand on a string. At 16 yards he stopped...of course with a limb in the way. He stutter stepped about a half a foot, giving me an opening.

WHACK! Perfect lung shot. As he ran by my tree I could see blood pouring out. He passed and stopped at 25 yards, stumbled and fell over. It was quicker than you just read this.

Not my biggest, but too big to pass here. Now the work begins.
