I'm a huge fan of the 7MM Rem Mag with 160-175 grain bullets.

That said, I'll never be without a 280 Rem for the 140-150 grain range of 7MM bullets. And in conclusion, both cartridges will do pretty much the same thing in terms of animals they will kill effectively. Other than maybe the slight advantage in terms of case trimming which is not a biggie for me in a huntng cartridge, I don't see the 280 AI version being that much better for normal hunting situations and ranges unless you just have to own something that's a little bit different from what the neighbor down the street has.

Also, an affirmative on the 280 versus 270 comments, both in terms of pressure and in terms of bullet selections.
