Default So How Did We Do?

Just wondering how the deer hunting members are fairing this year.

We had two tags for buck deer rifle season. Nothing huge but, we did fill both tags. My youngest got his second buck in two years on opening morning. A decent 2X3 Mulie. My older son handed his rifle off to me. We were running out of time and had an open field shot. The buck was doing the 'fast walk', 280 yards with heavy cover about 15 yards further away. Worse part was the seven doe's he was using for cover. I was proud of Patrick for putting his judgment ahead of his excitement/desire. He was way happy to shoot magpies off the gut pile the following morning with the 204R!

On Edit: Quick little brag, here. The boys are ten and eleven years old. Magpies were shot at 125 yards, we had good cover. Three shots fired, five dead birds. They said it was way more fun than deer hunting. We will see what they think when they are munching on venison jerky all Winter......
