The rifle grouped very well around an inch, a little under, with the brake.
As soon as I put the brake back on, the group returned, to the original grouping.

My theory was, the extra weight of the brake caused the thin barrel to whip.

The brake was sold as made for a .223 barrel 1/2" / 28, weighing 4 oz.

Planning to keep the brake on for now.
