My dad believed that cigarettes were ok, back in the 50s. That cost him about 20 years of life and the last few were pretty miserable.

When you sell a house, radon tests are often a requirement, at least in the several stated I’ve lived in. So if you will sell someday, you will have to test the house for radon.
