Default 30X357 magnum

This is a very fun and enjoyable little rifle that I built, chambered in 30X357 magnum, aka 300 Blackout-Rimmed...

Shooting sub-sonic at 1,040 fps., the hammer striking the firing pin makes more noise than the gun does when fired!

is that integrally suppressed?

is that a shotgun turned into a stub or rifle turned to a stub? i've been wanting to do a build on a single shot like this.

No, it's a muzzle brake screwed onto and permanently attached to the barrel...

The barrel stub started out as a 223...

This one was built for hog hunting!

David what powder are you using? I have a 30 carbine that i want to work up some sub loads for it. I think your 357 should be fairly close. That is an awsome little rifle by the way! Nice job

A buddy is building a 6.5x357 max. In a h&r single shot. That looks awesome.

ZKW465 - I am using Unique and 1680 for sub-sonic loads and Winchester 296 for super-sonic loads...

Cavscout68 - I chamber for all of the 357 Maximum based wildcat cartridges. I need to finish my 17X357 Maximum and get a load developed for it. The last one I built for a customer, he was getting 3,800 fps. from his favorite load!

Think they call that one the 17 super jet?(17 jet was the magnum length one) you should be able to get over 4k ft/sec from the 20gr bullets as it has more capacity than the 17 fireball/mk4. but then again pressure may be a touch less.

You're right! I have a customer with a 17X357 Maximum shooting a Ruger #1 that I built several years ago, and he is getting a little over 4,000 fps. and unbelievable accuracy!

The 357 Maximum based cartridges that I have pressure tested, can safely handle pressures up to 52,000 psi without issue...

When I was necking down the 357 max case I noticed that at about the 257 size it looked very sexy!

Here is a link with photos of some if my 357 max projects
