I have to agree with the "find a decent rifle" comment. I'd love to give this caliber a try, but I just can't warm up to any of the Savage rifles.

Our local Sportsman's Warehouse is carrying it for $17.00/box! But they have some! As for a decent rifle, time will tell if others will chamber a rifle for it. Bullberry Barrel Works and Match Grade Machine are putting them out as we speak. We just had one made by MGM for our Contender. Good luck and shoot straight!

Have any comments on the MGM barrel? I have a Bmag its the biggest POS I have ever seen but I think I could like the cartridge in a better rifle and I have about 1000 rounds of the 20 & a couple hundred of the 25gr loads I think it will be a great fox cartridge

I havent shot mine that much, but after deer season I plan on shooting it alot. So far the little rifle has done good! It seems to give good hunting accuracy feeds and ejects fine and it feels good in my hands and slung over my shoulder feels good. And I like the trigger

I can only offer a limited view from down here. I believe the savage is selling for somewhere around $650.00 here, maybe some other aussies will know for sure, I believe ammo is in excess of $30.00.

Just my feeling is that this wont survive, winchester should have a lot more irons in the fire. I think they just went out to try and trump the 17 HH. Unfortunately for them hornady had not only both bowers, but the joker in hand also
