Default Just got another reminder why I love the small calibers so much!!

Just got another of the Gazillion "Sale" emails from Midway. Usually they are deleted unopened but this one I took a look at . Suddenly I fell in love with the small calibers all over again.
Here is the ad slightly modified to fit the format. That price is before shipping too!!

Wowzers , sure glad it's on sale .
Gotta run, gonna go hug my .17 Ackley Hornet and a few others .
Not being involved in that aspect of our sport I had no idea how far above my pay grade some of it has become.

Shucks that's CHEAP compared to what our friends in the UK and Oz are forced to pay. Fellow on a/r went to oz on a buff cull shoot. Took 200rnds for a five day killin spree and ran out by Wed noon. Ended up dropping another $800 for ammo he burned up of the PH's. That would completely destroy my trip to get hit with that kinda bill.

Be happy Doug!!

Yep we went to set up our table at the gun show today and after we walked around looking at the tables the pricing was insane.

You forgot shipping. Lets round that up to $5.50ish a round . That would be $27.50 per 5 shot group if ya don't foul the barrel or shoot any sighters . It must be nice .

I love my small stuff a bunch, but I have no problem knowing that the big stuff costs a lot more to shoot simply because I enjoy shooting them and hunting with them.

In case you've ever wondered, a 416 Rem Mag hammers feral hogs....both big and little.

Edited to add: For my big boomers I have never bought any factory ammo. Just brass, bullets, and powder and I hand load for them.

I was idling thru the ammo portion of a Bass Pro Shop ad mailer yesterday, and noticed that some Remington ammo was priced over $150/box. I did NOT investigate WHICH ammo it might have been (perhaps it was .375 RUM with Partitions or Swifts or somesuch, but I wouldn't spend $40 on a box of Remington ANYTHING.
The ad just pictured some generic Remington box and said "from $29.95 to $151.95" or something similar.
