Shucks that's CHEAP compared to what our friends in the UK and Oz are forced to pay. Fellow on a/r went to oz on a buff cull shoot. Took 200rnds for a five day killin spree and ran out by Wed noon. Ended up dropping another $800 for ammo he burned up of the PH's. That would completely destroy my trip to get hit with that kinda bill.
Be happy Doug!!

You forgot shipping. Lets round that up to $5.50ish a round . That would be $27.50 per 5 shot group if ya don't foul the barrel or shoot any sighters . It must be nice .

I love my small stuff a bunch, but I have no problem knowing that the big stuff costs a lot more to shoot simply because I enjoy shooting them and hunting with them.
In case you've ever wondered, a 416 Rem Mag hammers feral hogs....both big and little. -BCB Edited to add: For my big boomers I have never bought any factory ammo. Just brass, bullets, and powder and I hand load for them.

I was idling thru the ammo portion of a Bass Pro Shop ad mailer yesterday, and noticed that some Remington ammo was priced over $150/box. I did NOT investigate WHICH ammo it might have been (perhaps it was .375 RUM with Partitions or Swifts or somesuch, but I wouldn't spend $40 on a box of Remington ANYTHING.
The ad just pictured some generic Remington box and said "from $29.95 to $151.95" or something similar. |
