Default CZ 527 stock interchangeability?

Hello:

I am considering rebarreling a CZ 527 7.62 x 39 action to 6.5 Grendel. In the end I would like for this rifle to sit in either an American or M1 stock as i want this as a medium-light weight utility/hunting firearm.

So my question is will the 7.62 action drop in a American or M1 stock with little or no modification?

I have not seen a 7.62 X 39 action but without a doubt, the action would fit.

The magazine cut out would need to be opened up and the 7.62 bottom metal

would have to be used.

You would need to have Roy B cut your mag down and alter the bottom metal.

I am quite positive the bottom metal is the same external dimensions, they just changed the inside dimensions to fit the 7.62x39.

I have one of the M1 stocks if you want to go that way pm me.

PS, jealous, you are beating me to one of my projects. Post back when you have it up an running.

Well its a fantastic idea! I am back and forth between 6.5 grendel or 6ppc variation. Want to really trick one out for a nice little deer rifle for My wife and when my kids come of age.

I have a 6mm Grendel barrel left over if you get around to deciding ? Made mine into a 338 Grendel.

All the American and M1 walnut stocks fit all of the 527 actions and are cut for the Sporter barrel configuration. I really like the new M-1 walnut stocks....with a slightly slimmer, longer and lighter weight than the standard American. They also have the raised cheek on the butt.
I have had quite a few 7.62 CZs made into PPC-based cartridges....my favorite is the 6mmAR (6mm Grendel). Never met a PPC-based cartridge I did not like, tho.

Default How about a 6mm SPC improved

SDGuy,
I bought a reamer to do an ar in 6mm SPC improved but didn't find any reloading dies. A bolt gun would be easy and just use a collet 243 die. I will send you the reamer and used 243 barrel. I will be up to Vermillion to see my brother and could bring it then too.
