Default Hydrolic Form Die

Has anyone used one to form their wildcat rounds? Pros and cons on what
you think. Are they worth the investment. Thanks, Robert

Much more fun to shoot them. Fireforming allows both load development and practice.

I honestly have never run into a situation where I absolutely needed them.
The dies are more of a pain and hassle in my opinion.

What he said, I have a set and they work ok, but the mess is not worth the effort unless there is no way you can fireform them. At least not to me and I love neat toys to mess with.....

Ron. Would not a form die of this nature save some money, in the long run, by not having to use as much powder/bullets/primers to reform brass ? Just wondering. Bill K

Yes it would save the costs of those components, but you would have to factor in the price of the Hydro die, and most of all factor out FUN. I can see it would be useful for someone living in a city that had no access to ranges or places to shoot, but other than that I wouldn't waste my time and money on one.

Default sp?

I think it's spelled "hydraulic". Unless "hydrolic" is some kind of proprietary name I am unaware of. Either way, I'm not sure they are worth the money & time for most wildcat applications unless you are making large quantities for resale.

Thanks for the input, and keep it coming. And yes I did misspell hydraulic.

Think I also hit the wrong spelling, but looking forward to more thoughts and input on this subject. Thanks too all. Bill K

Bill,
My thoughts are we should use as much brass, bullets, primers and powder as possible in the shortest time!
My friends tell me they reload to shoot, but, say, I shoot to reload!
