I agree and I've told him this. There's a reason why I'm doing the looking because he's not tech savy, therefore isn't abreast to the price of rifles, especially what will surely be custom.

I did tell him that we could look for a savage and I could twist the barrel off an spend money on a barrel. I told him either way the CHEAPEST he could do that for with renting a go-guage and new barrel would be $1000.

I had the thoughts of a 20VT for a while. If I had not found a die and brass I would not have moved forward with it.

I have a .17 rem and I know you can make brass from .223, but there is sleeping giant brass.

Brass from 223 will come out short, better off from 204 or 222 mag. I don’t, won’t run short brass in anything I own.

221 brass from 223/5.56 may or may not need reamed or neck turned.


Yes there are alternatives to most shortage issues.
