Not sure on the cartridge that may be a blond or brunette type question. What I do know is the encore can handle higher pressure cartridges and if you want to use something bigger later you have more options. Downside is that it will be a little heavier and thicker. If staying smaller and lighter pressure the g2 should be okay.
With the cartridge choice I think your twist rate will be very important of the choices depending on what speed your cartridge can launch the given bullet you choose. You may find it does all weights okay but nothing exceptionally well. My Savage 243 shoots 95 gr nosler into bugholes and the 55's into 3/4" groups. This is fine with me as both loads are screaming fast. The other guys will have a better idea of what the mid-range cartridge will do all well. I'm guessing the 6x45 but it won't be fast with the heavier bullets and I think 100 gr bullets are eating up way to much case capacity. I'm thinking of a 6x45 build for my kids first deer rifle as he is tiny and won't handle much recoil.

This would be an easy decision for me, 6-284 and done. My 6-284 was one of the very first builds I had done and I couldn't be happier with it.

I really would like the contender frame but I also like the 6mmBR. Those 2 are not a match as you pointed out the pressure.

Not sure if the Encore (prohunter) has the rimfire selector either? That is something that interests me for 17hmr match.

The 6-284 is going against my goal of a small case. Besides I'm not to sure how great it would balance with an 18 inch barrel.

I'm confused on the 6x47's. I know one is on the 222 mag and one is 6x47 Lapua. Does Bulberry do that one? I can vouch for that one. Mine is on a 700. Awesome caliber. Like a 6BR long. More case capacity for heavier bullets, better for deer size critters and the light bullets will scream. Go with a 9 twist and shoot 55's to 105's.

That said, it's not a whole lot different than a 243, really. More of a PITA to form, but you only have to do that once and you get the benefit of Lapua brass with the small flash hole.

If you want rimfire capability, you're narrowed down to the Contender frame, G2 or pre-G2.

Out of your caliber list, I'd go with the 6x45. It's one of the easiest wildcats to form and load, tons and tons of load data available, excellent accuracy. I would limit myself to bullets in the 85-87 grain area for deer over the 100 grainers. 85gr Sierras work really well in mine, and it is a 12 twist. There isn't much to gain with a 6x47/.222mag, and the cases are harder to find and a LOT more expensive. Just my two cents' worth.

Doesn't tc make rimfire encore barrles any more? I thought they did an off-center bore to accommodate the rimfires?
